Trust Where Your Food Has Come From

Hi, I’m Abbie, the founder of Plentiful. Back in 2018 I was working for an environmental charity, growing more and more disappointed in the negative effects we had on the planet. I took the plunge, quit my job, and opened an entirely plastic free shop. But a few years in, my own health journey took me in a new direction—one that changed everything.

I wish I had known what I know now about the healing power of food years ago. In 2021, after a year of fatigue, hair loss, and mental health struggles, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Although it'll never be cured, I've completely transformed my health and 'fixed' my gut by eating 30+ plants a week, prioritising organic produce, and avoiding as much ultra processed food as I can. I’m now a massive champion of looking after your health by eating food made up of natural, wholesome, raw ingredients, rather than supermarket branded highly processed food.

What started as an alternative to plastic-filled supermarket aisles became something more: a vibrant organic grocery that puts people and the planet first. Shopping at Plentiful means supporting local farmers who grow food the way it should be—without pesticides, without profit-driven shortcuts, and with your health in mind.

I can guarantee that your organic food delivery, whether a fruit and veg box or a customised online shop, has been produced, packed and delivered by people who care about the bigger picture.

This isn’t just about food—it’s about fairer farming, better health, and a future where we all thrive.

Plentiful isn’t just a local business. It’s a business for GOOD.

The Full Plentiful Story

Why You'll Love to Shop with Us Most

You’re shopping local.

I’m a Ramsbottom gal running a shop that employs local people. We reinvest back into the business, and support other small businesses and suppliers. If a bulb goes, we're two doors down from Simon at the hardware shop. We source as much as we can from nearby farms and suppliers and pack the boxes ourselves. That’s why our sourdough bread tastes so delicious, the honey is hand-labelled, and the cauliflowers are crisp and fresh! Even our boxes are sourced within an hour's drive.

You can put your feet up!

I’m always in the know of what’s in season, what’s available locally and the ethics of every brand. All you have to do is pick what you fancy that week and your organic fruit and veg delivery will arrive straight to your door.

You’re nourishing your body first.
Ultra-simple ingredients and seasonal organic fruit and veg taste better and are better for your health. Pile up the veg. Your gut will thank you!

You’re making a better choice for the planet.

Replacing chemical pesticides with organic farming benefits habitats and wildlife. Our food is sourced from the UK when it’s in season (look for the British flag when browsing the shop) and when we have to import, we never use air freight, minimising carbon emissions.

You’re reducing waste by buying produce you’ll actually eat

(thanks to automatic personalisation) delivered in boxes we collect to reuse (and recycle after 5-10 uses). The only plastic packaging is what the farmers use to preserve the odd item that needs it (leafy greens need looking after!)

You’re supporting local farmers

who choose to grow organic. They set their prices based on the fair wage they deserve and we order exactly what we need to create a seasonal box. We send ‘wonky’ veg too - you’ll find all shapes and sizes and unusual veg. No veg left behind!

P.S. If you ever wonder whether your purchasing choices make a difference, they do!

I notice and appreciate every single one of you - every order placed is helping us make an even bigger impact. I’m sure our local farmers appreciate it when I’m able to make bigger orders week on week and I’m sure the supermarkets will one day notice their customers want change. You’re part of a movement to change the way we produce and consume food. For our health, local economy, environment, wildlife and the planet, every juicy tomato, every crunchy apple and every salad leaf counts!
